GC Services Complaints Are Common

We are a traffic defense law firm in Southern California and frequently deal with GC Services on behalf of our clients. GC Services is a collections agency that collects on unpaid traffic tickets for the Los Angeles Superior Court. Here is a list of the top complaints we hear about GC Services:

#1 – GC Services Lied to Me

Common lies that GC Services has told our clients:

  • “You cannot get a court date.”
  • “Your only option is to pay us.”
  • “You have to pay all of these tickets to get your license back.”
  • “Your license will be suspended if you don’t pay us.”

On the contrary, in most cases you don’t have to pay GC Services to get your license back, and you are also often still entitled to a court date. If you suspect you haven’t gotten the whole story from GC Services, call us at 888-250-8450 for help.

#2 – GC Services Didn’t Advise Me of My Rights

If you pay GC Services, you will get a misdemeanor failure to appear conviction on your criminal record. Did GC Services tell you that? Probably not. Also, in the case where your ticket is a moving violation, paying GC Services results in one or more DMV points going on your DMV record that will cause your insurance rates to increase. Did GC Services tell you that? Probably not.

#3 – GC Services Asks for Outrageous Amounts of Money

Often a $25 fix it ticket can escalate into a fine of $1,000 or more if your case goes to collections with GC Services. The reason is because a failure to appear charge is added to the underlying traffic ticket. Also, if you pay GC Services you are pleading guilty to the underlying offense and you will be paying as if you were guilty of it (which you wouldn’t have to do if you have proof of correction on a correctable violation).

We are an affordable law firm committed to helping you save money under what GC Services wants, even after our fee to represent you. We can’t ethically guarantee an outcome on your case, but you can view examples of past case results here.

#4 – GC Services Wouldn’t Answer My Questions

Having an unpaid traffic ticket can raise issues with collections, the court, and the DMV. You probably have a lot of questions, and may have tried speaking with GC Services for answers. However, often the GC Services employees are terse and unhelpful, and aren’t interested in talking to you unless you want to pay them.
