If you received a traffic ticket with a failure to appear in West Covina, you will be dealing with a collections agency called GC Services.
GC Services collects for unpaid traffic tickets in the West Covina courthouse, and when they start harassing you it can be intimidating and confusing when trying to understand your rights. But don’t pay GC Services before speaking with me to understand the negative consequences of doing so.
As a Los Angeles traffic ticket attorney, I’ve been dealing with GC Services for several years on behalf of my clients and I can help educate you on your rights and options.
GC Services West Covina Courthouse May Lie to You
Since GC Services is a collections agency, they are very good at lying. Some of their lies include statements such as:
- You can’t see the judge.
- You HAVE to pay us to clear the hold from your license.
- We offer you an “amnesty” program.
- You have no other options.
None of these statements are true, however. For example, true “amnesty” is a government program to reduce the cost of your tickets (which only applies to tickets received on or before January 1, 2013).
However, GC Services steals that language and says you can enter into their “amnesty program” for any unpaid ticket; what this REALLY is, however, is a scam to get you to pay them (there is no amnesty or reduction in fees under the GC services so-called “amnesty program”).
As long as you haven’t seen the judge already, I can go to court on your behalf without the need for you to be present and:
- I can clear the VC 40509.5 hold from your license.
- I can get your original fines reinstated, and often get them dismissed or even reduced.
- I can help keep points off of your DMV record in the case where your traffic ticket involves a moving violation.
- I can reduce the misdemeanor failure to appear charge to an infraction so it stays off of your criminal record.
